Meet Pure Innocence (PI).  I love the simplicity of this little line drawn sweetie and she is a favorite character of Lawn Fawn. PI reminds me of both myself as a little girl and my granddaughter.  Lawn Fawn has several new releases of her every year and she is always doing something fun.  Her every day antics fit into my memories of life as a little girl.  When I saw this version with her eyes covered, my imagination jumped immediately to putting her into a hot air balloon.  This concept turned into one of my favorite all time cards.  I chose the "where" sentiment because it was one of my granddaughter's favorite words at the time.  The banner is an Our Daily Bread Designs diecut.  The barn is from Sweet 'n Sassy stamps, "Landscape Sillhouettes", the cup is from, "A Nice Cuppa", by Stampin UP.  The paper for the hot air balloon is from "My Mind's Eye.

A Mother's Day Card for a Very Special Lady

Hello, today's card is for my sweet Daughter-In-Love's First Mother's Day. .  What a special day!  She is a world class mother to my lovely little granddaughter.  Each day, together, they discover new adventures around every corner.  Kaydence is the delight of our lives.  I am so thankful for the gift that Kim has given us.  Being a grandparent is just great!

The image is a rubber stamp from Stampin Up.  Stamped with Distress ink.  I airbrushed white flowers with Copics.  The image and scalloped oval were cut with Spellbinders frames.

The greenery is an Impression Obsession die and cut on some colored velum cardstock.   I was pleased with the light airy look that it gave.

Bubbles for a Birthday!

Happy Bubbling Birthday! Today we have a simple card with a cute message. I was inspired by these ready made quilling embellishment Dimensionals from Provocraft.  Because these are premade this card went together very fast.

The patterned card is a boxed set with envelopes from Joanns.

 A short word about storage.  I love the new Artbin Super Semi Satchels.  As you can see, I have quite a collection of cards that either I have precut myself or purchased pre cut and scored with envelopes.  These storage containers are the perfect size to keep them stored with perfect corners and dust free.  The other plus is that you can see through the top to know which group of cards you are pulling off shelf. 

I also use the Artbin Semi Satchels to store embellishments, precut cardstock and the small size cardstock such as mat stacks.

I stamped the stamp onto green card stock and then punched it out with an EK Success circle punch.  Made a blue layer to go under it with the next size punch and punched a large blue Circle to mount the fish and bubbles on.  The verse is from Stampin Up!

The standouts already have adhesive on the back.  So this went together really fast.

Today's card was inspired by 6 new Chinese friends!  The Chinese letter means "belief" or "message" and is a Sizzix embossing folder.  

The background is an embossing folder by Darcie.  Both of the dry embossed images are inked up with Distress inks.  The stamp is from Stampin UP! 

LATHER UP

 A tribute to the art of wet shaving.  Pictured below  is a wet shaving themed shadow box that I made for my son for his birthday.  He and his father have become enthusiasts of the art of wet shaving.  They have many discussions on the art of shaving and everything that is required to get the best results.  They have a lot of fun with it....almost as much fun as I have with my paper crafting hobby.  So, for his birthday, I designed this little shadow box to hang alongside of his collection of shaving soaps and other paraphernalia.  The soap,gears,  scuttle, Razor strap, mirror, scissors, watches and men in top hats are all rubber stamped and embossed in black and fussy cut..

Top hatted men are a Tim Holtz Rubber Stamp.

 Gears are a Stampin Up stamp.

 The box is recycled from a gift

 Flowers are a Cheery Lynn and quilled Cuttlebug die cuts.

 The brush is a stipple brush.  The little dish came in the box and had a rose in it.

 Backgrounds are Kraft Paper from archivers.

Christmas Advent Calendar

I have been meeting with a group of ladies called Stampin Chix for quite a few years now.  At Christmas time we have a secret gift exchange.  We each list 3 Rubber Stamp sets that we would like to have and then exchange names.  When you recieve the list of your partner you choose one or two sets (we set a $30 limit) and then you purchase those sets and make 3 items using the rubber stamp set.  The purpose is to give the giftee some ideas of what can be done with the stamp set.  Last Year I chose the Stampin Up set "Have a Seat" and "Aviary".  I came up with the idea of an advent calendar with the title "Christmas Chair".

 I used the Sizzix matchbook cover die and cut out 25 of them, then stamped the inside and placed them on a cute paper that I found.  I apologize for the blurry pictures, I had not discovered the proper way of focusing with this camera yet and was having a difficult time.  The rest of the pix are kind of fuzzy and maybe not for those of you with a queasy stomach, but maybe you can get the idea.  This project was a lot of fun as I pulled out all of the tiny stamps that I owned and used the largest variety of stamps of any project that I have ever made.  I used the Tim Holtz tiny attacher to staple the inside card to the matchbox cover.   It was challenging to create little vignettes of the tiny chairs and come up with so many different Christmas scenes.  All in all it was a very fun project and I used many stamps that I had not used before.
