Lawn Fawn You're Clawsome!

My son, Chris, is awesome at Claw machines.  He has quite a collection of treasures to prove his mastery!  And a niece who enjoys the product of his skills!  For his birthday, I have used the Lawn fawn "You're Clawsome" stamp set to create a memorable card for him. Happy Birthday, Chris!

Colors achieved with Copic Markers.  Background is a discount store paper and ms.sparkle & co Woodgrain Colors washi tape.

SAIL ON! TEA CUP TRAVELER, HAPPINESS IS IN THE JOURNEY

Meet Pure Innocence (PI).  I love the simplicity of this little line drawn sweetie and she is a favorite character of Lawn Fawn. PI reminds me of both myself as a little girl and my granddaughter.  Lawn Fawn has several new releases of her every year and she is always doing something fun.  Her every day antics fit into my memories of life as a little girl.  When I saw this version with her eyes covered, my imagination jumped immediately to putting her into a hot air balloon.  This concept turned into one of my favorite all time cards.  I chose the "where" sentiment because it was one of my granddaughter's favorite words at the time.  The banner is an Our Daily Bread Designs diecut.  The barn is from Sweet 'n Sassy stamps, "Landscape Sillhouettes", the cup is from, "A Nice Cuppa", by Stampin UP.  The paper for the hot air balloon is from "My Mind's Eye.

Flippin for Flip-its!These

I started designing these cards in February wehn the Stampin Chix were supposed to meet.  Unfortunately, the weather was bad on the day that we were to meet and so I didn't get to make them that day.  February was so dreary that I think I was yearning to work with some bright and cheerful colors.  I got my chance in March when I made a trip to Florida and had a little extra time to put these cards together.  They are made with the Sizzix Flip-its die cuts and Graphic 45 paper.  I like that the Sizzix dies not only have a die to cut out the card itself, but they also come with dies for the layers on the card.  Fabulous!!  Now if they would just add another layer or two, they would be perfect!  My chicken is looking kind of streaky here.  Not sure why and I don't recall that it looks that way in person.  I will have to take another look at it and maybe do some blending.  That is one of the reasons why I like to blog.  Seeing the picture on the computer screen helps me critique my work.  The Copics are really great too in that you can go back long after you have finished a project and rework the blending.

The images and sentiments are from Artistic Impressions and are rubber stamped with Ranger Archival ink.  The orange daisies across the top are a Martha Stewart Punch.  Those were not on the original card, but some adhesive ran amuck and I had to do some damage control.

I picked up the dimensional embellishments at Joanns.  I'm not sue what the brand is.

Love this cute little owl guy!  Overall, I give the Flip-its a thumbs up and five stars.  These cards went together very quickly with no measuring.  They also come in a little plastic durable pouch so that you don't have to worry about losing all the little pieces.

A Mother's Day Card for a Very Special Lady

Hello, today's card is for my sweet Daughter-In-Love's First Mother's Day. .  What a special day!  She is a world class mother to my lovely little granddaughter.  Each day, together, they discover new adventures around every corner.  Kaydence is the delight of our lives.  I am so thankful for the gift that Kim has given us.  Being a grandparent is just great!

The image is a rubber stamp from Stampin Up.  Stamped with Distress ink.  I airbrushed white flowers with Copics.  The image and scalloped oval were cut with Spellbinders frames.

The greenery is an Impression Obsession die and cut on some colored velum cardstock.   I was pleased with the light airy look that it gave.

Bugs Hugs for Hubs!This wee

This week my husband and I celebrated our 41st Anniversary and I made this card for him.  He has always been fastidious when it comes to his wardrobe and when the business offices moved to casual dress, he instituted his own dress code known affectionately as "Dress Up Monday".  Dress Up Monday is topped off with a bowtie and matching sox.  So, the bowtie was a perfect embellishment for his card.  We had the day off work and went to see a movie.  It was a wonderful day with a wonderful man.

Clothes Pin Fun

A sweet little backyard scene. 
 A clothesline filled with colorful baby clothes and fun little critters.    It was embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder, then colored and airbrushed with Copic markers. The sentiment is from the Cloud 9 Baby collection.  

Our curious little woodland friends are stamps from the Art Impressions try-fold collection that were fussy cut and pop dot mounted.

The card was mounted on two layers of solid color coordinated cardstock.

Green Pastures

 This latest card is called Green Pastures.  It is a tri-fold shutter card created with a Sizzix die.  The die both cuts and scores the cardstock.  It is a Bigz XL die.  The rubber stamps are from Stampscapes.  The sheep stamp is from an unknown company. The die was used twice.  Once with the brown background and a second time with a patterned paper.   The scene was stamped on the pattern paper, and then the panels were cut apart, trimmed down and attached with adhesive.  Cutting the scene paper from the die saved time and made this scene go much faster.  I keep trying to decide if this card is finished or if I should add some words.  There are several nice areas where I could add  sentiments.  What do you think?  The inks are Distress inks and Copic markers with air brushing.  I used the paper towel technique for the sky.  I plan to do some more cards with this Sizzix Die, it is a lot of fun to work with and it is a good die to show off coordinating paper.  The card doesn't fold up too tidy (below).  That is due to the type of card stock that I chose to use, not the die.  The cardstock is actually a chipboard and kind of bulky to fold, but I like the way that it makes  the card stand up which is how I would display it.

Using a bit of Corrie Ten Boom's wisdom, (see Knowing Your Purpose, a Missionary Heart 5-26-2013). I made this graduation card for my son, who graduated from law school this year.  It was a happy day for the Bobb family!  Congratulations, Nick!

The stamp set is from Our Daily Bread Designs.  It was stamped with Ranger Archival ink, color is from Copic markers, both air brushing and pen strokes.  A quilled daisy flower was added for an embellishment.

BLUE BIRD BLESSINGS!

Today was a beautiful day full of sunshine and perfect for rubber stamping.  I chose a Heartfelt Creations stamp of a bluebird for the centerpiece of this card.

I stamped the card in Ranger Archival Ink and colored it with Copic Sketch Markers, airbrushing a blue mist around the edges.  Then I finished off the scene with Stampscape Reeds and edges of the Oak Branch stamp using Distress Ink Pine Needles.

Next I stamped and heat embossed three flowers with white embossing powder on vellum.

I cut out the flowers with Heartfelt Creations Rose Creations Dies.
Then inked the flowers ever so lightly with Distress ink Spun Sugar using a dauber.

Again using vellum I stamped, heat embossed and then cut out the Heartfelt Creations  frame shown in the picture.

After assembling the card, I stamped the Stampin Up Blessings stamp across the bottom of the card.

I'm pulling for all those exams to turn out well!

Today's card was made with a Flopsy stamp from "My Favorite Things". Flopsy Inked up with Mementos ink and colored with Copic Markers.  The background is airbrushed with Copic Markers.  The sentiment was stamped with a frame from Our Daily Bread Designs mini tags 1 and cut out with Spellbinder's Nestabilities Ribbon Tag Trio 3.  Ant is from G-Rated Rubber Stamps.
